Guided Fly Fishing Trips

The San Juan Angler offers both half and full day guided fly fishing trips on some of the most scenic and productive trout waters in the four corners region. Our team of passionate guides demonstrates the knowledge and experience to be successful in our wide variety of water.

Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned angler, our goal is to provide you an enjoyable, successful and memorable day on the water that will keep you coming back.

Our trips take us from the world-famous San Juan River below Navajo Dam to the headwaters high up in the Weminuche Wilderness and everywhere in between. We offer both wade and float trips. Depending on the season and your desired experience, The San Juan Angler can provide a variety of fly fishing opportunities.

If you're looking for solitude on the water, you might consider a trip on one of our private ranches. Slow the pace down and have peace-in-mind that you’ll have the river to yourself. All private water comes with an additional fee of $75 per person per day.

We mainly focus our trips on rivers and creeks but do offer guided trips on a couple of lakes and reservoirs in the region. If you're interested in learning more about lake fishing options, please call the shop for details.

What to bring?

The weather in Colorado can be quite unpredictable. Fishing at an elevation of 9,000 ft. is amazing, but can bring rapid changes in temperature, wind, and precipitation. To assist you with being more prepared for your day on the water, here is a list of items you should consider having:

  • Polarized Sunglasses
  • Baseball Cap or Brimmed Hat
  • Sunscreen / Insect Repellent
  • Rain gear
  • Socks
  • Layered clothing for wearing under waders (i.e. long johns, fleece pants, etc. jeans are not recommended under waders, as they can be uncomfortable and do not wick moisture well).
